Hey everyone!

We’re super excited to announce the release of our game, Crossroad Chaos, made for the Brackeys 2024.2 Game Jam! After an intense week of designing, coding, and testing, our game is finally live, and we can’t wait for you to experience the calm (and chaos) of managing a busy intersection.

🎮 About the Game:

In Crossroad Chaos, you play as a traffic officer, controlling the flow of cars and pedestrians at a busy crossroad. At first, it seems like a peaceful job, but as the day progresses, the calm quickly turns into chaos with rush hour traffic flooding the streets. Your mission is to keep the roads safe and the traffic flowing smoothly without causing any accidents!

With simple mechanics but increasing difficulty, it’s a game of balance—can you keep the storm of traffic at bay?

💡 Development Story:

The theme for this jam was "Calm Before the Storm," and we instantly thought of the tension between a calm morning and the rush hour storm that hits every major city. As traffic builds up, you’re constantly balancing timing and decision-making, much like a real traffic officer!

We coded the entire game ourselves, and while we leveraged Syntys Polygon City for our art assets and royalty-free sound/music, the core of the gameplay, design, and vision came straight from our team (Alan & Geros). It was a tight schedule, but the rush was totally worth it!

🚦 What’s Next?

This is just the first prototype! While the jam is over, we want to keep working on Crossroad Chaos and improving the game based on your feedback. We’re considering adding new features like:

• New types of vehicles or pedestrians to keep things interesting.
• Power-ups or challenges that change how you manage the intersection.
• Co-op: 1-4 players in 1-4 intersections collaborating.
• Leaderboards so you can compete with others in the community!
